Privacy Policy

Little Honu does not have accounts, does not ask who you are, and does not sell anything about you. Your game lives on your device.
Who we are
Little Honu is made and published by Deschutech LLC. "We" and "us" in this policy mean that company, and Deschutech LLC is the data controller responsible for the game.
The short version
- No sign-up, no login, no email address, no profile.
- Your progress, settings and purchases are stored on your own device.
- The free version shows ads, and they are non-personalized ads only — the game is tagged as child-directed, so the ad SDK is told not to use your advertising identifier and not to track you across apps.
- To put an ad on the screen, Google's ad SDK does collect a small amount of technical information. It is listed in full under Advertising below, and it is the only thing collected from this game.
- Buying the premium unlock removes ads completely, and with it everything in that list.
- We do not sell or share personal information, and we add no analytics, attribution or crash-reporting SDK of our own.
What stays on your device
The game saves your progress (level reached, score, lives, boosters, achievements), your settings (audio, haptics, controls, difficulty) and which purchases you own. This is written to the app's own storage on your device. We never receive a copy of it.
If you have iCloud or iTunes device backups turned on, Apple may include that saved game in your backup, under Apple's terms. Deleting the app removes the saved game from your device.
Advertising
The free version shows occasional full-screen ads between levels, served by Google AdMob.
Because Little Honu appeals to young children, every ad request is sent with the ad SDK's strongest age treatment and ad content is capped to a general audience rating. In practice that means the ads are non-personalized, are not based on a profile of you, and the SDK does not use the device advertising identifier — which is why the game never shows an App Tracking Transparency prompt and declares no tracking to Apple.
Google still needs some technical information to put an ad on the screen, measure whether it worked and prevent fraud. This is the complete list, and it matches the privacy label on our App Store listing exactly:
- A device identifier. Not the advertising identifier — child treatment switches that off — but the SDK does identify the device well enough to cap how often you see the same ad and to spot fraud.
- Advertising data: which ads were requested and shown.
- Product interaction: whether an ad was tapped, closed or watched to the end.
- Crash data and performance data from the ad SDK itself, so Google can tell when its own code is misbehaving.
- A coarse location, worked out from your IP address — roughly city or region level. The game never asks iOS for your location and cannot read it.
Google describes these as used for advertising and analytics. None of it is used to track you across other apps or websites, which is what Apple means by tracking. That processing is Google's, under Google's policy: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
Apple's SKAdNetwork may also report app installs to advertisers in aggregate. It is designed by Apple so that installs cannot be tied back to an individual person.
Buying the premium unlock turns ads off for good, and the ad SDK is no longer asked for them.
Game Center
Leaderboards and achievements are optional and run entirely on Apple's Game Center. If you are signed in, your scores and achievements go to Apple and appear under your Game Center nickname. We never see your Apple Account, your real name or your email — only the scores Game Center hands back for the leaderboard. Apple's handling is covered by Apple's privacy policy, and you can sign out of Game Center in iOS Settings at any time.
Purchases
The premium unlock and booster packs are sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple takes the payment and tells the app only whether you own the item. We never see or store your card, your billing address or your Apple Account. Restoring purchases asks Apple, not us.
Photos and sharing
If you tap Save on a score card, the game asks iOS for add-only access to your photo library so it can write that one image. It cannot read, browse or delete your photos. If you tap Share instead, iOS shows its own share sheet and nothing is sent anywhere until you choose a destination yourself.
What the game never asks for
- No location permission, contacts, calendar, microphone, camera or health data. The game never asks iOS for your location; the coarse region in the Advertising list is Google's estimate from your IP address, which every website also sees.
- No email address, phone number or postal address.
- No analytics, crash-reporting or attribution SDK of our own. The only thing collecting anything is the ad SDK described above, and the premium unlock switches it off.
Children
Little Honu is built to be safe for young players. There is no account, no profile, no chat and no way to type anything that leaves the device, so the game asks no child for personal information and receives none. Every ad request is sent with the ad SDK's child-directed treatment and capped to general-audience content, which means non-personalized ads and no advertising identifier.
The technical information listed under Advertising is the only thing collected, it goes to Google rather than to us, and it is not used to build a profile of a child or to track anyone across apps. If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information through the game, write to hello@littlehonugame.com and we will look into it and delete anything we find.
Your choices
- Buy the premium unlock to remove ads.
- Sign out of Game Center in iOS Settings to keep scores off the leaderboards.
- Delete the app to erase the saved game and settings from your device.
- Adjust Apple's own advertising controls in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security.
Your rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA and similar)
Laws in some places give you the right to see, correct, export or delete the personal information a company holds about you, and to opt out of its sale. We hold none: there is no account, no server and no database on our side, so there is nothing for us to look up, export or delete. The game data is in your hands, on your device, and deleting the app removes it. We do not sell or share personal information, and we never have.
For the limited ad-serving data Google processes, use Google's own controls at https://myadcenter.google.com and see the Google policy linked above.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version is posted on this page with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
